Guidelines Contents  Be specific Design a project with specific goals, tasks, and outcomes. The more specific, and the more closely aligned with traditional instructional objectives, the better. Create a document outlining these criteria, and make it available to students. A Welcome document or Details document within the main project conference is usually the best way to present it.    Provide examples Provide examples of the kinds of writing or data collection that students will submit. Outline the criteria in the Welcome/Details document, or provide a template that students can refer to.  Set specific dates Set specific beginning and ending dates for your project, and set specific milestone dates. Direct students to record these dates in their own project calendars with reminders.  Share the projects At the conclusion of the project, share it. Make the project conference(s) available to other students, faculty, and the community.  Get feedback If this is the first time you have done this project, consider having your students write a summary that describes the project, what they did, what they learned, and what changes they would make. This will help you to improve the project for next year.
